Canning date obstructed, but beer name states 2021
It seems like newer Cascade beers are coming out more in distro than before. I tend to think of them as an old school, acidic Wild Ale producing brewery, without much in the way of new offerings. This one sounds interesting though, so let's crack open this little 8.5 oz can and see what it's all about
Pours a cloudy deep gold with less than a finger of white head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
The pear is super strong in the nose; more so than any other beer I've had with pear before. I'm picking up on aromas of juicy pear, tart pear skin, lemon juice, crackery malt, tannic white wine, light earthy hops, and a touch of vanilla
It's still super pear forward in taste, and I enjoy that. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting lemon zest, pear juice, peppery hops, crackery malt, white grape, and a touch of stone. The swallow brings notes of tannic white wine, pear skin, lemon zest, bready malt, light earthy hops, and apple skin
A medium light bpdy pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp and tart beer. Finishes a tad too sticky but is still drinkable
This is not amazing, but I still enjoyed it. Unique for sure
