12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden ruby color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of tart berries, lemon, green apple and caramel. Strong sour taste with an acid kick. Lots of berry taste.

i wanted a little more from this one, delicious fruit profile, but bracingly sour, and a small doses thing unfortunately as a result, so many of their beers are insanely acidic, acetic this one, fully bacterial rather than funky, most have some of both, but this presents like its all acid, despite some maturing oak in the background. maybe part of it is the fruit, blueberries and blackberries in this deep violet colored brew, to me they throw tannins and tartness from their skins with less of the jammy sweetness than they sometimes do, so this maybe hits a bit of an acid double (or triple) jeopardy. subtle nuances of port wine, cinnamon stick, and vanilla bean, and there is some fruit sugars hanging on in here, its not that dry, but the acid cuts right through it to dry the palate right out after each sip. i get more blueberry than blackberry which is fun, some light almost licorice spice too, herbal black tea character, and very little from the malt, the fruit bulldozes it. mature and vinous, a little lemon lightness through it, and the low alcohol content is a nice change of pace for these guys for sure. i couldnt drink a ton of this, but its tasty, pretty quintessentially cascade, even if it lacks a little of the wild yeast funkiness i like in conjunction with the sour, and a treat to get to drink this on tap, have not seen as much cascade around in this format lately. not among my favorites of theirs, not even close, but still fun and distinctive, heaps and heaps of fruit in this, almost more berry than beer...
