One of the current "live beer" selections at the barrel room.
The beer pours a reddish amber color with an extremely creamy, long lasting head. Lacing is likewise excellent in this impressive beer. On the nose, I get an outrageous aroma of cherry, dates, honey and chocolate. Given the nose, the flavor profile is a bit surprising, as it's dominated by the sour component in this beer. The other flavors are there as well (along with some noticeable vanilla), but they're in the background, with the sour front and center. Mouthfeel is very soft, creamy and long, with (as usual with Cascade) the 8.2% abv. completely unnoticeable. It's really difficult to believe the alcohol is that high... the beer drinks like a 6% abv. at most beer.
I could have done with a bit less sour in this beer, but otherwise this is another impressive effort from the folks at Cascade.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
