First had: on tap at Cascade, Portland, OR

Poured a clear, reddish-brown with a decent-sized off-white head that receded pretty quickly and left a little lacing behind. Nice aroma of sweet malts, subtle rye spice, and some floral hop notes. The flavor followed the aroma fairly well; good balance of malts and floral hops, nutty, with a somewhat subdued rye spice. Medium-bodied and quite drinkable, though not as flavorful as I would prefer in a rye beer.

A: Poured a clear ruudy red color with good carbonation leaving a nice white cap

S: A little bit of rye bread, hint at floral hops

T: A bit of rye, followed bye a light floral hop presence, light hop bite, perhaps a touch of caramel

M: Medium body, well carbonated but thin on the end

O: Not to bad but this beer was a bit thin on the mouthfeel

Served in Imperial Pint glass. Poured a nice, clean, clear deep red/light brown color with about a half inch of medium khaki head that had low retention and OK lacing.

The aroma was full and rich, very nice malts with an easy touch of Rye and just a trace of hops. The flavors were very similar, full malts some hops and not as much Rye as I would have liked.

The body was full, smooth, even and well-rounded without being sticky or heavy. Drinkability was very good, a few of these would slide down easily. Overall, a nice little brew that's worth a shot if you see it.
