Tulip glass. On tap at the brewpub.

A: Pours a deep purple with a finger of purple-tinged head which hangs around awhile, with minimal lacing. Head recedes to a flat looking surface.

S: Loads of fresh blueberry. Amazing, unlike anything I've tried. Hint of bourbon but not much oak. That being said, this does not really need anything else.

T: Again, lots of blueberry, spice and bourbon and oak on the mid palate, with a moderate mouth puckering sourness.

M: Medium body, medium-light carbonation, and some creaminess. Alcohol is completely hidden.

O: Really unique and delicious. A real pleasure to try.

On tap at Cascade Barrelhouse 25 Feb. Left over from the 2012 Tart Fruit Extravaganza.

Murky dark treacle colour with an immense rich mocha head which is highly reluctant to fall.

Musty, wooded, leathery, twangy blueberry. At once dreamy and intense.

Similar flavours, however the bourbon is a little more noticeable, and in my opinion knocks the sharpness off the blueberry and funky yeast profile.

Moderately puckering with a super zesty tang. Terrific length and absolutely no booze.

Overall, an excellent adventure.
