This NW style Sour Ale started out as blond ale that was aged for one year before spending 10 days on 60 pounds of blackcap raspberries. Think Nouveau Beaujolais with blackberries. Vinous aromas of tart blackberries start this beer off. Sharp acidic notes of tart berries on the palate lead to a sharp dark berry taste that leads to a prolonged dry fruit note. This one off barrel is a blender favorite.

On-tap at Cascade's barrel house. 2 oz. served in a taster tulip on November 29th, 2012.
A - Cranberry juice coloring with a light pink ring of foam. Insane looking sour. Light lacing and alcohol legs.
S - Wow, huge blackberry and raspberry blend here. It reminds more of the fruit smoothies my girlfriend and I make. Touch of vine and herb as well.
T - Candied sugar, super tart raspberries at the front to mid. Back-end morphs more into a richer blackberry note with vinegar underneath.
M - Light medium body, high appropriate carbonation, noticeably dry finish.
D - Really enjoyed this one, it's like Raspberry Tart with added sourness and complexity. I would deem that quite a complement.

On tap at the Barrel House yesterday, 6.55% ABV
Deep reddish mahogany with a think, pink head, nice retention and lacing. The nose is a blend of lactic acid, blackberry and plenty of butter. The palate is a blend of buttered popcorn, raspberries, red wine and lactic acid. Medium-light in body, moderately carbonated, this beer is overly buttery.

Beer Dinner with Cascade Brewing
Stone Brewing Co.
Escondido, CA
Dark ruby and purple with a near-pink cap of small bubbles. Leaves irregular dots and spots of stick down the glass.
Incredibly aroma of raspberry/blackberry character, with strong lactic sour character as well. There's some oak. Incredibly fruit forward, while still remaining earthy, woody, slightly funky, and very enjoyable.
The flavor, much like the aroma, is a wonderful combination of raspberry/blackberry, with mild funk, strong lactic sour presence, and a bit of wood and grass. Delicious.
Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Incredibly delicious.

A: Poured a deep purplish black color with great carbonation leaving a reddigh, purple cap with nice bubbles and lacing. Sexy.
S: Oh my. Creamed my shorts. Fresh blackberry and raspberry battle with a sting lacto presence coupled with vanilla and wood
T: Eventhought this beer by name boasts a raspberry note it seems to reveal big blackberry tasting notes with light raspberry secondary. It has a lacto/booze sting with fresh blackbeery juice. The back reveals a one time white fruit presence, like a pear, apple and perhaps even a white grape, not more so in the taste but in the feel, like remnants of The Vine feeling.
M: Decadent and delicous for a sour. Nice body, taste and well carbonated
O: Most excellent
