Oblique Coffee Porter from a 32oz Cascade "Grenade" growler picked up Sunday from the brewpub. Poured into my new HotD snifter.
A: Pours an oily black with light showing through reddish/brown at the stem of the glass. Low carbonation, with a small amount of fading khaki head.
S: Coffee upfront, really pleasant fresh pressed coffee notes and light astringent roast character. Faint layer of chocolate/mocha behind that. Hint of other grains.
T: Follows the nose, roasted fresh pressed coffee with the lightest hints of a caramel sweetness. Very balanced coffee flavor, not overwhelming with astringent earthy tones, but with moderate bitterness.
MF: Oily moderate body, very low carbonation serves this beer well.
O: Solid coffee beer.
