11/23/19...pours amber clear, fast heavy white foam with large bubbles. Faint grain nose, cereals and breads. Faint malty taste, very clean. Some corn. Light bodied and lightly sweet. So so.

From the 1 fl. oz. can. Sampled on January 18, 2019.

The appearance is an attractive looking honey-amber color with a modest cream colored head and decent clarity.

Aroma of sweet caramel malts, butterscotch, earth, and grass.

The body is smooth and medium.

Sweet taste for sure with a malt forward character followed by a more slightly lingering bitterness. Overall, a balanced Pale Lager.

Pint on draft at Taco Trio in South Portland, Maine.

Appearance: Clear amber with a short eggshell head.

Aroma: Clean but faint. Some grass, some crusty bread, whiff of smoke.

Taste: Crisp lager with caramel and smoke notes. Tasty. Some bread crust, too.

Mouthfeel: Very drinkable.

Overall: I’m pretty sure this is the same thing as Tarnation. Still good stuff.

Had a can on July 2nd at The Dory in Kennebunkport, ME for about six dollars. I asked the bartender what type of beer it was, & was told an IPA. Oh well. Decent brew, just not a big lager guy. Baxter does make solid beer.

So darned refreshing, but that may have been because I had it after 6 hours of yard work. And I’m Not even a big lager fan. Crisp, medium-bodied, spicy, with a little earthy bitterness. If I can find more of this, it might become my official summer beer.

Pours a clear, deep cooper color with a poorly retained one inch white head that left lacing on the bottom third of the glass. Smell is fairly mild with caramel, lightly roasted malts and some earthy hops. Tastes of caramel, lightly toasted malts, earthy hops and molasses. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation, finishes with mild bitterness, crisp.

Maine Lager, should be refreshing and it is. Happy with this brewer and to be the 4th review here.
A) The surprise is the dark red-copper body, which sports only as slim head and modest lace.
S) Too faint but clean caramel malt first, with earthy, spicy hops.
T) Well balanced; begins caramel malty then builds to a spicey, earth hoppiness, cleansing with moderate bitterness on the finish.
F) Thin-to-medium bodied; mild bitterness, reasonably clean finish.
O) Great food and session beer.
