MHT is inspired by the diverse and dynamic experience that the hut and trail system of Maine's Western High Peaks offers. For this IPL, we went on a three stage brewing adventure:
- We mashed it like a wheat beer, using nearly half wheat malt complimented by barley and oats.
- We fermented it cold and clean with Bohemian Lager yeast.
- We hopped it like an IPA using Amarillo, Simcoe, and Zythos.
The result is a beer that does justice to its namesake: pristine and refreshing

Pint can poured into a Pilsner glass.
Appearance: Slightly cloudy straw with a big puffy white head.
Aroma: Lemon, grass, wheat.
Taste: Lots of lemon and grapefruit, along with biscuit, wheat toast, and some malt sweetness. Pretty well hopped.
Mouthfeel: Somewhat prickly due to the heavy hops.
Overall: Interesting hybrid beer. It’s a bit more severe than I’d expected, but still good stuff.

A: Pours a yellowish copper color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a nice cap that leaves good lacing
S: Earthy hops, wheat, and citrus all come out along with a light spiciness. Solid
T: Follows the nose. Robust earthy notes combine with the wheat and mildly clean lager yeast to start things off. Goes into the citrusy hops and a very mild bitterness. Finishes with lingering hop notes and toasted malt
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Mild and smooth
O: A great hybrid IPL that takes all of its components and turns them into a very solid brew
