This one could use a bit more appearance factor but otherwise plenty enjoyable. A nice level of blueberry extract here that's not overwhelming, not weak, and complements the bar ale. Plenty drinkable.

Baxter Brewing Co. "Out of Range"
12 fl. oz. can

Notes: "ALE WITH NATURAL BLUEBERRY FLAVOR"
Look: Clear golden beneath a short head of densely foamy white. The head retention is good and it leaves some nice lacing behind.
Smell: Grainy, bready, and lightly sweetish malt with a touch of blueberry.
Taste: As the aroma suggests it will be. I appreciate that they've not gone overboard with the blueberry as it's 100% artificial. Over my quarter of a century of professional brewing I've found that a combination of real fruit and extract works best, although I'm always open to 100% fruit. A firm bitterness balances it and it finishes dry and bitter with some bready malt fading.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: I appreciate that this tastes like a beer with some added fruit character rather than fruit juice with some beer added. On the downside it seems out of balance with a little bit too much bitterness that comes across as brash rather than smooth - that could, of course, be coming from the flavoring.

A: Pours a yellow color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap

S: Light blueberry, grains, and some bready malt

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a mix of blueberry, grain, and bready malt. Picks up some light bitterness. Finishes with lingering blueberry and grain

M: Light bodied with moderate carbonation

O: A decent blueberry beer that is very easy to drink. A nice summer brew
