Brown bomber into standard pint. Got half a case of unlabeled bottles as a gift from my cousin when she went to the Rogue Brewery Garage Sale.
A: pours black with a milimeter of offwhite head that didn't stick around at all. A thin ring around the glass. Not much light gets through, can vaguely make out shapes through the beer. Not amazing looking but it fits the description.
S: yeasty smelling, like a bread starter almost. Big herbal notes but nothing distinct, a little spicy. Surprisingly appealing though.
T: a bit of funk up front and those odd herbal notes I can't place. not sure how to describe the flavor really. But I kinda like it.
M: light and drying. a bit of carbonation tickles the mouth almost like seltzer but not in an unappeling way. Helps it go down smooth
O: not bad, not entirly sure what to think. But I will finish whst I got for sure.

Appearance: black in color with a short 1/2" head that slowly falls apart.
Smell: a soft earthy aroma is all that is detectable here.
Taste: mild malt profile with some prune sweetness, yeast, pepper spice, some earthy tones, and a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer but feels a bit thin. Lightly crisp from start to finish.
Overall: definite sessionable beer but from a flavor profile it is a bit light compared to some others in the style. Very easy to drink this beer.

Pitch black with a creamy light tan head. Fair head retention.
Lightly roasted aroma with some slightly spicy notes. Interesting.
A nice smooth malt profile flows into a great gingery spice note. There's a touch of bitterness. A great beer for 3.5%.
Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Good drinking.
A really nice session ale. Great flavour and nice and easy to drink.
