Because this nano has very close relations with Les Legendes, I was expecting something great; but only got some good.

La Corne Looks like it needs a more active yeast; decent small bubbles, but I like protein swirls in my BDSAs. Smells are subtle, but mostly mute; leaving me to wonder what's coming next. Unfortunately, Tastes are the same; not distinct. Where are the different dried dark fruits vying for attention? What spicing makes an occasional pop out at me? I will say this positive: my mouth does salivate, so I'll say La Corne has a nearly full Feel.

As for my micro-review of D'Ebly... It is the child of Legendes which from 2006 was the merger of two other brewers I had sampled early in my career: Brasserie des Géants and Brasserie Ellezelloise. That marriage bought an impressive distillery in 2019 and I would very much like to visit their brewery and restaurant. (Unfortunately it is remote and near Luxembourg.) But what is most important is their website (which has a prominent English button) indicates they are innovators in sustainable brewing... and even grow their own barley. Sacre bleu ! That dedication deserves really high Overall Hugs.

This beer for me was a curveball from a pitcher that usually throws fastballs. Like, before Mrs Raul was around and all Raul dated was brown haired dames - yet there was that one time he actually went with a blonde. What I’m saying is after drinking a lot of Belgian Blondes, I needed something dark. And was this one sultry? Not even. I don’t want to go on.

I do wonder with this brewery what demographic their 'Who killed Kenny?' style branding is pitched at. I know the folklore behind Bois des Pendus but the imagery seems very errr... sub-legal drinking age,
Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Effectively black but held by a haolgen it's ultra dark ruby red. Be aware the sediment is quite heavy and lifts fast into the pour, and for me that's despite the bottle having rested untouched for 4 weeks now! 3cm quite dark tan foamy head.
S- Just a touch of timber and leather for me.
T- Much dryer than anticipated! I briefly consider if it's off/vinegary... hmm... nope. It's so different from what it's looks suggested; is this a black IPA with seriously prominent (though trad style) hopping...? I get some toasty notes but hoppy bitterness dominates it's pungent taste for me.
F- Like a pungent black IPA.
O- It seems like a strange brew to me. Really strong hops-led taste, some roasty depth that seems almost completely obscured, and I'm finding it unusually hard to identify any detail re: taste, ABV, or charm with this beer.
I can finish it but wouldn't drink it again.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! .> 'Barley malt, wheat...' and nothing else unusual/of note.
330ml bottle £3.75 BB: 01/2023 Bought from BeautifulBeers/BurySt.Edmunds as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Pours a dark-brown color with a medium top off beige head that dissolves quickly.
Aroma is dark malts, caramel, vinous, licorice, sour and dried fruits.
The taste of dark malts with caramel and slightly roasted notes. Allong with with the malt profile is also some sour and fruity notes in the flavour. The finish has some small bitter notes, but are a little dull and bland.
Mouthfeel is soft and smooth with a medium carbonation and a medium body.
Fairly decent and drinkable dark ale, but far from being impressive.
