Hinting toward cooler, more somber and festive weather, the Jester King brewers bring the summer Belgan seasonal beer from summer and into fall with a beer of rustic nature and a spicy cinnamon personality.

Dichotomous pour with a densely hazed burnt orange gaze. After causing excessive cleanup of the counter, the beer's arid and rocky head expels a host of earth, pepper, wood and citrus to form an earthy perfume. A taste of dry biscuit, winter honey and bread crust leaves the early palate brisk and mildly savory.

Its middle palate is bright with dried rustic citrus, while its sweetness trail into a nutty, woodsy memory. Lemon, lime, green apple and green grape suggests a mulled cider and spiced wine demeanor as the cinnamon finally comes out to play. Peppery, vinous and tart, the beer's lasting impressions are of cedar, oak and marzipan.

Medium-bodied and trending light as the beer falls into finish, the peppery, effervescent and citrus peel flavors suggest a lighter texture than what is actual. Its curious cinnamon additions add spiciness but never scream attention either. There's a lot to learn from this beer's spice handling.
