Appearance – Poured a gold/orange color with hues of purple, a good indication that real black currant was used. One finger of coarse head that diminished quickly. Slightly hazy.
Smell – Very grainy like multi-grain bread and very herbal. A strong smell of Oolong tea. No currant smell.
Taste – Grainy like raw hay and very tea like. That Oolong bitter taste permeated the beer. There was a tartness to the beer which probably can be attributed to the addition of black currant. The finish was a peppery bitter.
Mouthfeel – Medium-full in body with lots of texture. Carbonation could be easily felt.
