Really fizzy in the mouth. The first sip is alarming. It tasted like spoiled fruit with a suspicious bitterness. Oh, and definitely cucumber. Cardboard and cereal smell. Dry and sourish taste.
I guess I can't think of a less auspicious use of brettanomyces. The usually clean yeasty taste is just a murk here. The finish is dry, but then the aftertaste of bitter compost raises the bile. Hazy golden color is nice, though. And the cucumber flavor is quite robust. But I keep thinking of that stuff on the compost/garbage heap. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Belllingham.
