super impressive raspberry berliner type here, a totally clean base beer with a massive dose of raspberry to it, a delicious specimen, even one of the better sour beers we had around tacoma. the color is a supersaturated reddish pink, deep in tone, even the short but frothy head has a pink hue to it. i have to imagine they use a puree for this, not whole fruit, the color almost intensity almost guarantees it, or this would be a lot more expensive per glass i reckon, but it seems like a quality ingredient nevertheless, nothing artificial or overly sweet about this, and in fact the tartness of the base beer is right on with the natural tartness of the fruit, this is the right amount of acidic to be quenching and clean, but not too much so that it sits weird in the belly or lingers on the tongue or teeth, highly drinkable, even with some body and a little more alcohol content than you usually see in these. i know this is super new school and trendy and that i should disavow it for being puree based or not lambic or something, whatever the common critique is, but i just dont feel that with this, its too delicious to hate on, and too professionally done. this is one to enjoy, not to criticize or wish for it to be different, and frankly, after not hearing anything too good about wingman before rocking up, i was super impressed with this. i think the base beer lends itself well to fruit in general, and blackberry, red wine grape, and cherry editions come to mind for future batches...
