Something a little askew on this fir me. Orchard fruit aspect is turned up with a little too much sweetness, somewhat cider-like. Nose is floral, with some fruitiness, not too bad. For the slightly sticky sweet feel, the beer isn’t too heavy - but definitely could be drier, even at 7%. Metallic note is light, but distracting, especially when combined with other things - and the little things build up in a not so good way for me. I sorta wonder what would happen if they dialed this back to the 5% range.

Crossroads Brewing Co. "Maggie's Farm"
on tap at the brewery on 4 June 2016
$4.63/pint

Listed at 6.7% ABV with 30 IBUs, this golden saison was only slightly hazy beneath a short head of bright white. I'm not sure if it had to do with the bar glass or not, but the head showed poor retention, and it left almost no lacing behind.

The aroma displayed the yeast clearly, delivering a chalky/mineralish character, as wells as lots of fruity esters over sweet malt.

The flavor was quite different, which is nice, with lots of spicy zest and coriander flavor upfront, followed by sugary, rock candy-like malt that rose to balance it along with fruit (apple, white grape). A moderate bitterness, along with the spice balanced it, and it finished dry with a lingering touch of spice and mineral that was surprisingly soft given it's fairly aggressive beginning.

Quite nice! Approachable but exciting! Complex yet rounded and balanced!

On tap at the source. Listed as 7.0%ABV.

Straw-colored, just a slight haze, with a thin white head that fizzled out almost completely. Aroma was light, fruity, funky, floral, slightly sulfuric. This pretty much carried over into the taste, sweet stone fruits, potpourri, light grassy funk just barely peeking through, with a slight metallic/sulfur element. Not very good for a saison, but maybe works better as a Belgian blonde, if you want to get technical. Light body, lower carbonation, giving a somewhat slick and flat mouthfeel. Drinkable overall, but not something I'd go back for.

decent mouthfeel but a bit heavy for the style i look for more carbonation in the saisons i drink

overall ok beer but not refreshing like a saison should be the abv was too high it was a bit medicinal also needed to have high carbonation not my favorite of the bunch but still decent
