Draft at PreFunk. Medium golden, small white frothy head, lots of lacing. Gentle, hoppy, resinous aromas. The first thing you notice is the feel (slick), followed by the pervasive hoppy flavors, piney and floral. A nice malt backbone too. Very well assembled.

Melvin is killing it. I like how the bitterness is low. Bitterness in hoppy beers and a malty backbone now are played out now. Mevlin is setting the bar now for what heads want. Juicy and refreshing are the new and better norm. Bursting with Mosaic and at 5.1%? It doesn't taste thin like other session IPA's. I want this in cans bad!

On tap at First Draft. Orange-yellow. Aroma is lovely Mosaic hops, slight bit of fruit, herb or grass. The flavor was too one dimensional for me and didn't have enough of a malt backing.

another awesome hoppy beer from melvin in the market here. they have totally taken over any local hoppy beer scene or hype, and because there is no shortage of their beer, they really are everywhere. this is a nice one, different than many of their others. for one, its clear. bright and clean, deep goldenrod in color with a brassy shine, and a full inch of white head. it smells like mosaic hops sure, super fresh and tropical and familiar, but the flavor has something different going on for these hops, and its bitterness. so often the mosaic only beers have an amazing nose and taste but fall short of providing the bitterness necessary in a style like ipa and american pale. nice to see the bitterness brought in here, kind of a different side of mosaic, and i really like it. the malt base is lighter than it looks, fresh but really light, short of thin, but not really bringing much structure or flavor to the beer. its a bit light on the back end, but upbeat bubbles and the clean finish help me not be bothered by that. it absolutely blows my mind that this is 8% abv. it just drinks so much easier than that. these guys just keep coming with the awesome hoppy stuff, and i plan to keep on drinking it. this is great beer.

Solid, solid beer. My second Melvin, going to keep seeing these out. Love the focus on the Mosiac, killer hay, puckery dry mouthfeel. Citrus and apple, no sweet, no malt. Lovely.

On tap at Thai Me Up. Wonderful hop smell. Just the right amount of bitterness. Finish could be a little smoother but that's getting too picky. Not quite up to Sosus but for a single hop Mosaic double it's pretty darn good. Alcohol is very well hidden. Another awesome beer from Melvin.
