Collaboration with Teton Gravity Research

This newest collaboration in our lineup will have you sessioning brews like you session laps off the tram…the TGR Pils-gnar is inspired by, and built for, those who shred the gnar. Light and crisp with a medium-light body that says, I’m a local brah, TGR Pils-gnar uses slightly sweet malt under a canopy of bright, tangy, flowery hops to achieve an aroma that’s spicy and fruity at the same time.

Pils-gnar has a balanced finish that just begs another quaff…in the lot, on the chair, in the brewery, on the porch couch that should probably be burned at the end of the season. Light and sessionable…it’s Pils-gnarly bro!

Draft at PreFunk. Ordered the pils last to wind down a night of big IPAs, expecting a ho-hum finish. Wrong! Excellent pils. Big in your face flavor, silky body, smooth finish. I could drink this all day. Could use a bit more snap at the back, but everything else is perfect.

12 oz. Can
CANNED ON: 03/20/19
ABV: 4.8%

Poured into a Tired Hands glass a pretty nice clean/clear dark golden yellow color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy/foamy two-finger white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, hoppy, with some nice lemon, grassy, peppery. The taste is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, lemon, grassy, pepper. Medium body, ABV is hidden pretty nicely, with a dry/bitter finish. Overall, a pretty tasty brew. A nice thirst quencher.

Bright and shiny, crystal clear piss gold. White cap recedes but manages to leave good lacing.

Ground corn and grains complimented with fresh cut grass.

Similar flavor with more of a very dry cracker taste.

Clean, wonderfully crisp, dry and bitter. Really hugs that bitter edge.

Pale straw yellow body with a patchy, frothy head; a bit sticky. Fine fruity aroma; pear and sweet grass. The flavor amplifies the aroma; excellent mild sweetness infused with a subtle yet prominent hop bitterness. Medium bodied; gentle sweetness with a crisp, semi-dry mouthfeel.

Overall, an extraordinary pilsner, light and crisp with a subtle ester presence and gentle hop bitterness.

what cant melvin do? i am so glad i picked this up. i dont really buy sixers too often any more, my beer drinking has kind of turned into draft while i am out and large format when i am home, but how nice to buy something like this and crush through them, its as drinkable as they come, but decidedly modern with this juicy hop profile, a near perfect brew in a lot of ways, even if its a little less traditional. if you just want a light hoppy beer to drink ice cold from the can, this is your horse! the hops have some noble element, like that dry grassy and lime zesty saaz thing, but also a southern hemisphere sort of sweet lemony and peachy fruitiness, new school, and increasingly forward as the beer moves along, boldly hoppy in the finish even without much bitterness. the lager yeast doesnt have a ton of flavor, but the beer is never boring, the crispness of the finish with the high carbonation is amazing in this style, and the freshness of the grain and sort of slate-like minerals give this plenty of depth beyond the hops. the kind of beer that is a three sip can right from the fridge, and i love that sometimes. my favorite thing from melvin in awhile, very new wave pils, but this is money!

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger and a half high bright white head that quickly settled down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides.
S: Light to moderate aromas of grassy hops are present in the nose along with notes of bready and cracker malts.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of grassy malts along with underlying notes of grainy and cracker malts. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied, clean, and somewhat dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the aromas and flavors of grassy hops and the dryness in this pilsener. It was quite easy to drink.
