one of the most basic and unexciting beers ive had from melvin, who until now has even had a way of making simple lagers pop out as distinctive and awesome, their mexican lager and pilsgnar come to mind in this regard. this is a really basic cream ale, and i am guessing from the name and abv that it was crafted specifically to be compliant with the laws in utah. its cool they bothered to make a beer for utah, many dont, but they could have done a little more with the recipe in my opinion, as much as i am inclined to blindly like everything these guys make. it is of course an objectively well made beer, we always get that from melvin, its just boring. it doesnt quite have the crispness i like in a cream ale, not the cold conditioned snap i look for, but it is incredibly light in body and refreshing when ice cold. a light corny sort of sweetness, a pancake kind of baked doughy thing from the malt, hardly any hops at all, especially for these guys. a touch thin obviously, but an easy mindless drinker. it could have a little more flavor, but there certainly isnt anything wrong with it. an unexciting beer from melvin for the first time in my experience...

On draught at Frontier Brewing and Taproom.

Pours a clear pale gold with an inch of foam. Shrinking slowly, some lacing.

Lovely aromas of biscuit malt and hops that are noble like.

Well integrated are the 2 in the taste. Such a Cream Ale. Tasty hops are a bit spicy. Biscuit malt extremely tasty and again, well integrated in the overall taste. Low level of bitterness.

Great body for how low the abv is.

A winner!
