a weird but delicious and thoughtful take on the style here, done with electrolytes to make it extra refreshing and almost healthy. i have seen this sort of addition to beer become a little more popular this summer, but this is hands down the best of them i have tried. it starts as a nice wit type, peppery and floral on the yeast, with a neat ester and some crispness as well, lime and cut flowers come out, raw wheat, its nice, simple, summery, and good. the electrolytes give it a little tang, like when lemonade comes in powder form, definitely a sort of yellow gatorade vibe to this, and lime really stands out. there is a mineral thing, a touch of acidity, and the yeast really ties it all together, somehow doing more than it seems to ever be asked to do in a beer like this. its still a wit first, but its really distinctive with the electrolytes, and probably is good for me. at least thats what i tell my hungover self as i suck this down gleefully. familiar but also new to me at the same time, refreshing and clean, very summery, and very good. this is more innovation than i am used to from melvin, and i really dig it. a very solid wit underneath really stands out. nicely done!
