It is no secret that Arc'teryx is an international pioneer in the technical outerwear industry. The company stands behind their commitment to quality and innovation across all gear and clothing that they introduce to the world's most passionate outdoor aficionados. In 2015, Arc’teryx conceptualized a new idea, an outdoor experience produced in Jackson Hole, WY, and coined it The Arc’teryx Backcountry Academy.

This brought them to our original taproom Thai Me Up in the heart of Jackson, and after a beer-fueled brainstorming session it was obvious–Arc’teryx and Melvin Brewing were destined for a partnership, sharing our mutual love for the Tetons and our dedication to bringing our fans quality goods and memorable experiences.

Three years later, Son of Apocalypse was born, the perfect beer to celebrate shared experiences in the Tetons and beyond. Son of Apocalypse is a crisp and smooth IPA at 5% ABV and 70 IBUs—a delightful addition to your anticipated après or your reward after going full send.

16 oz. Can
CANNED ON: 01/09/20

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice cloudy yellow/orange color, with some pretty nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, guava, mango), with a nice little pine note. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, guava, mango), with a nice pinyness. Medium body, ABV is hidden very nicely, with a pretty nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew.

16 oz can from Brewers Haven. Medium, clear golden with a lasting one finger head. Grainy, malty, aroma, dry, dusty with a hint of hops. The dryness comes in first in the taste, light chalky feel, biscuit malts, and a smidge of bittering hops.

Mostly clear, lemon-yellow body; lively carbonation; thick, soapy white head; sticky fingers of lacing coat the inside of the glass. Kind of funky, old fruit aroma initially; leaves a light scent of lemon later. Mellow flavor of biscuit and light citrus; a hint of white grapefruit; nice bitterness develops at the finish. Medium body; crisp and dry.

This beer drinks easily. It is well-balanced, nicely blending soft, toasted grain with a low-medium intensity of hop bitterness and flavor.
