Pours a nice clear golden color (unusually clear for and IPA honestly) with a soft foamy head that really lingers and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is heavy on grapefruit with some nice piney notes, maybe ever so slightly catty as well. Taste is similar with kind of that classic grapefruit character, again a slight cattiness, and a mildly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is very very smooth for an IPA, something about it does just feel a little off for the style for me however. Overall still a solid brew and very enjoyable, cheers y'all!

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of pine, grapefruit and toasted caramel. Toasty with roasted caramel malt and citrus. Mild piney bitterness.

16oz can served in a nonic glass. No can dating.
Look- Slightly hazy golden orange color. Solid off-white head with great retention, a good amount of lacing. Moderate carbonation streams visible.
Smell- Citrus (tangerine, grapefruit and lemon/lime), peach skin, tropical fruit (pineapple and passionfruit), yeast and some gooseberry, kiwi, caramel malt, faint mint and grassy/herbal notes.
Taste- Similar to the aroma, bright tangerine, peach, gooseberry and tropical notes, light coconut and malts with a fairly aggressive hoppy bitter back end.
Feel- Medium bodied with a nice, pretty dry and really crisp. Medium carbonation on the tongue.
O- Definitely a different IPA, not usually a fan of Sabro hops but the coconut is really restrained. Worth giving a shot.

love this name for a beer, love the art on this and really all the new melvin designs, and i love the beer in the can as well. it says nordic ipa, which perhaps means it employs the now popular kveik yeast, which i suspect, as this has a bit of an ester to it, a gummy thing i sometimes get from it, especially with lots of new school hops like this has, almost a saison element, clean and dry and all, a very efficient ferment it seems, but with plenty of character from the yeast leftover. i think the hops are well selected to work with it, i get sweet orange, papaya, good weed, and green grapes and gooseberries, a little twangy and almost french saison-esque, and without much bitterness at all for how darn hoppy it is. i think this is a very creative brew, the hop profile is unique and the fact that there is a fermentation profile in an ipa that isnt english or belgian or sour is pretty cool, it really seems better refined and more professionally done than other attempts at something similar i have encountered in the past. easy to drink, effervescent and brick, juicy and summery without being overdone or green at all, its really nice beer for this time of year, i wish it were cheaper, but its a total success and definitely stands out in their portfolio despite all the ipa types they do. bravo.

16 oz can from Boise Co-op. Dark golden with a slight haze, fizzy head. Fruity aroma plus melon, cucumber, basil, lemon. Wow. Taste brings out the malts, with savory notes sprinkled in, grassy, bitterness is a light tingle, trace of dryness. A whole lot goin' on here

Canned 3/31/20
Pours a light frothy smaller head with med retention, nice soapy thick lacing, semi hazy med golden orange color
Nose brings some citrus up front, that interesting farmhouse-like but more fruity tart estery Kviek like yeast, some dank pine, light sweet malt, and a little generic tropical as it warms
Taste is interesting, a vanilla oak-like presence up front, creamy buttery-oak chardonnay which is really unique, and turns to a floral honey cream character, then hops kick in with some citrus, grapefruit, mild tropical notes, a little dank pine late, mild sweet doughy malt, creamy as well and some honey, a little gristy malt and some citrus zest late, it eventually turns into a light tart funky character, med-lighter bitterness up front, then med bitterness on the mild sticky finish but super dry at the same time, '
Mouth is med bod, a bit creamy, med-high foamy frothy carb
Overall this was a fun unique beer, decent for IPA, really interesting characters from the Nordic yeast (maybe Kviek?), the flavors go well together too for a nice beer

damn pandemic, I was supposed to hike Yellowstoen and Gran Tetons NP this weekend. Was going to stay in jackson and go to Thai Me up for dinner. Next best possible solution is to rate a Melvin beer
Canned 3.31.20, opened 5.3.2020
Poured into a teku, two finger creamy white dense foamy cap , good retention, good lacings over translucent deep amber orange liquid, settles to a ring
Aroma is dank, whiff of sour yeasty
Taste is dank, whisper of pine
Smooth mouthfeel, low sudsing, hop nibble lingers
good beer, just wish I was eating drunken noodles in jackson with this beer

16oz canned on 3/31 poured into a pint nonic on 4/26.
A: Chill-hazed golden orange with a whispy, foamy white head that laces well. Tons of carbonation racing up from the bottom of the glass.
S: Nordic, I would say. But seriously, pungent, dank, fruity, and floral all come to mind. It definitely leans tropical, but no one fruit character shines - maybe overripe pineapple? - and overall it takes on a more dank nose than anything else. It’s different, and I like it.
T: Crisp malt and bitter tangerine come to mind, with impressions of green tree sap and a ghostly note of coconut. Finishes pretty dry.
MF: Creamy and smooth and feels a little bigger than 6%.
O: A nice experimental IPA with some hops (Sabro and Trident) that I don’t tend to see a lot.
