first new one ive seen from melvin in way too long after a long period of heavy innovation, not sure if their sale has slowed that down or not, but i was glad to see this on tap. a kolsch at its core, but a bit more hoppy than the imports, still crisp and tidy and very very drinkable, but a little more going on than in most of these, sort of uniquely personal or something, im into it. looks slightly unfiltered, frothy airy inch of head, very pale straw color, soda level carbonation. faintly floral in the nose up front, some clean lemon too from the hops, a bit grassy as well, european malt, crackery and light, less overtly german than the most authentic of these, but the right profile otherwise, all fresh and well proportioned, if a little americanized. the flavor is right there too, hoppy without being bitter, lots of citrus which makes this summery, and the carbonation moves it along real swiftly. the yeast element is subtle at best, i dont really miss it, but also thats part of the classic kolsch experience, the hops kind of sub in for that in the finish. this is drinkable, poundable even, and well refined, dry, and refreshing. well done. i hope this is the start of a lot more new beers from these guys...

12oz can from New Colony. Clear golden pour, fizzy white head. Malty, biscuity aroma, bready. Taste is clean grainy, bread flavors with the slightest hint of lemon. Crisp finish. Really nice.

On Tap at Handlebar Taphouse. Pours a clear light golden color with a fresh white head. Smell is fruity, hoppy earthy with pale malts . Taste has citrus ,grain lemon grass notes and pale malts . Mouth feel was thin not crisp as to style and fruity in finish . Easy to drink but was not to style for me.

Bought at Liquor Shed in Casper. Canned June 10th 2022.
Pours a clear pale gold/straw colour, over an inch of foam, very good lacing.
Smells bready, earthy, hoppy(Hallertau was used), maybe a bit too much?
Taste is the Hallertau hops up front, bready malt, a little grain, more hop bitterness, though not overly so. Or maybe. I'm used to the German Kolsch...
Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
A tad too hoppy for the style, in my opinion.
