Hops and cannabis come from the same family of plants, and these herbaceous cousins both create terpenes, compounds found in essential oils that provide a broad spectrum of aromas and flavors. When you crack open a fresh can of IPA or grind up some dried flower, these terpenes spring to life and excite your senses with notes of citrus, berry, diesel and more. Modern techniques have now made it possible to isolate terpenes without the plant matter, which we added to this hazy double IPA to accentuate the hops and create a melange of tropical fruit, dark berries and dank. The result is a delight to the senses, beaming with the bright aromas and flavors produced by these magical plants.

Hazy light orange color with a decent frothy white head.
The aroma is citrus, tropical fruit, weed and more.
The taste is an explosion of flavors - tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, papaya, passion fruit, white grapes, apricots, plums, kiwi, good weed and other herbal notes, the longer I drink, the more flavors seem to surface, slightly sweet, a bit tart, mild bitterness.
The body is medium, good carbonation level, velvety smooth, very drinkable with a well hidden ABV.
Altogether, this is a very tasty and enjoyable brew, very flavorful but not in an overbearing way, enjoyable, good warm weather cooler, but also a good after dinner dessert anytime, outstanding.

lots of innovation from melvin lately, it was awesome to cut into a number of them over the weekend. this one is really good, a hazy imperial ipa with relatively low bitterness and a highly saturated and unique hop character. really bright for a hazy, glowing deep waxy yellow with uniform haze but no murk at all and a frothing white head from the tap. it smells incredible fresh and heavy on the citrus, smashed tangerines and muddles lemongrass, lightly sweet but not malty in the classic sense, its lighter than that, the alcohol is well hidden, and i get some herbal character too, a wrinkle of vanilla, heady sativa, tomato vine, and fresh squeezed lemonade. its bold as can be in the flavor too without being vegetal or green, none of that over hopped bite here, and some definite white wine grape character, floral and springy, with thiols and terps popping enough to make this seem crazy modern even without some crazy new fangled yeast doing the heavy lifting from what i can tell. its drier than it smells with the intense fruitiness, the grain is soft and plush and this feels super smooth for what it is, not oily as some can be, minimally bitter, orange jellybeans and fresh papaya and even kiwi at the end, green melon, sauvingnon blanc, really good weed. overall an impressive offering here in exactly the style space i expect these guys to be all over, fantastic execution, nice showcase of this side of the hop spectrum, i wish i knew which varietals were in play here. loved this.

On-tap at Dusty Rose; semi-cloudy sunset haze with a small ring of white head. The nose is pretty bright and smells like fruity, green hops, with some present notes of diesel, mango, and non-descript berries. The palate is pretty consistent with this, offering lots of hop flavors, some generic tropical fruitiness, grapefruit, melon and stone fruit, a sense of present firm bitterness and a good dryness. Well-executed in my opinion.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Mildly hazy golden pour, fluffy white head recedes to thin layer. Citrusy aroma, orange peel, grapefruit, lemon. Taste is zesty, tangy, more citrus flavors with a lingering bitterness.
