pale ale with orange blossom, really flavorful and different, fun for this time of year too, great to have a couple new ones from these guys this weekend, it had been way too long. this is orange tinted and a little big hazy but quite light looking still, and very fizzy even if its head is only average. the nose is striking, bigtime floral with sweet citrus there and some slightly rich barley malt, id love to know a little more about how this is made, but it seems to be orange blossoms straight up, not orange blossom honey, which is more common, and if it is, its pretty epic stuff dosed heavy, but this doesnt drink honey forward to me, it drinks orange blossom forward, really cool, it would be delicate except for its bold enough to not really be delicate at all. the flavor shows some complimentary hops, citrusy and not bitter enough to distract from the buzzing orange blossom character, which is like nothing i have ever tasted in a beer. lightly nutty and toasted notes to the malt help keep this beery and balanced, orange poppyseed muffin vibes, but not all that sweet really, there is actually some herbal bitterness on the swallow, fits as a pale ale i suppose, albeit a light one, and the whole thing is in service of this impressive orange element. really distinctive beer, perhaps not refined at a super high level, but it doesnt really need to be. great use of this orange blossom ingredient, no mistaking what it is. way cool.
