Bought locally, canned January 12th 2026.

Pours a pale gold with a good head of foam, retention and lacing are only decent.

Smell is tropical fruit, citrus, dank, hint of pine.

Taste is tropical fruit, dankness, hint of grape, the New Zealand hops working well.

Juicy mouthfeel, I am not sure if I would drink this again. Shrugs.

not a ton of new melvin beers making it out lately, this is a place that was taking over the world for awhile but has really fallen back, not sure if the sale is part of that, but its just kind of dried up. this one is really good, really modern, bright, somewhat intense on the hops but neither oversaturated nor bitter, which is nice, its summery and fruity then, very compelling, and quite drinkable for what it is, first new one ive had from them in some time. blonde and pale and light looking even though its not fully clear from the tap, average white head, lots of bubbles, strong southern hemisphere hop aroma, white wine, peach, tropical candy without being sweet, some gassy and rubbery hop character but in a good way, weed gummies, honeydew melon, green pinecone, very robust and appealing, canned pineapple and even coconut, fabulous. the flavor is much like the nose, a combination of things like tangerine and mango and peach lead into more a more danky middle before floral and vinous closing layers, lime leaf and key lime, green apple, so much unique fruitiness here, its remarkable. cool minerality too, pils type malt base is mostly out of the way and not inadequate for this level of hops, lemongrass and just a little snap at the end, lovely hop comeback after each sip too. this is great, on trend, drinkable, distinctive, and really with some fun hop wrinkles to it, high thiol and terpene presence without being forced. impressive overall quality, makes me miss the melvin of old. had this on tap but looks like they can it too, hope to see them around, i would buy this for sure. excellent and unique!

Bright light gold pour, steady slightly rocky foam atop. Nose is melon and faint diesal.

Taste brings orange, creamy grain, mixed tropical, light kilned malt, under ripe honeydew. Medium mouthfeel. Finish shares bitter citrus, with some thin resin lurking.

Canned 1/12/26. #WestCoastWednesday. More akin to a regular ipa than a westie to my tastebuds with good mouthfeel; medium hoppiness; a subdued tropical/fruity/citrusy flavor and a clean, quick-fading finish.

CAN from a Central Market grocer in Fort Worth, TX.

6% ABV. Brewed with Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin hops.

Yogurty tang, creamsicle, guava, passionfruit.

Hop profile is interesting enough, but there isn't a lot of hop pungency or depth of flavour to help separate this from the pack.
