a new one from funkwerks, on tap at the brewery. its not as interesting as i want it to be, or as i am used to from them, but i super dig the mouthfeel and the rustic nature of this. its almost belgian, very ommegang if you will, similar to their base saison with a little more spice to the finish and lot of creamy body. hazy straw colored and plenty thick, creamy two inches of white head in the globe, nice looking brew. a white pepper and cut dried grass aromatic, wheat malt driven, and a touch of the sweeter almost banana belgian yeasty esters. the flavor is much like the nose, a little muted and less complex than other funkwerks brews, but extremely enjoyable. farmy but not as distinct as others, maybe a more mellow yeast. lots of body, i love how frothy and expansive this is on my palate. maybe i wish it was more distinct like the other brews these guys do, but the quality radiates from it and its more of a session type at under 6% abv. truly delicious.

Pours a copper golden with a cream colored head. Aroma is spicey with some nice bubblegum, bready, orange peel, and just a touch of grassy hoppiness. Flavor follows suit. Active, medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, another winner from Funkwerks here. While their other recent release, Session Saison, came off as a sessionable take to their Saison, this one comes off as a sessionable take to their Tropic King. Would happily drink this again, good stuff.
