Had this at the Firestone Walker Fest pre party the night before 2017.
Pours a cloudy yellow with hints of orange to it. 1/2" white head. Aroma was definitely very yeasty, much like the base version. Dry plastic. Didn't pick up anything 'pear' in the nose.
Taste also pushed the super pungent yeast, usual hay and grass descriptors. Doesn't have the spice rack aspect going for it, which is a plus in my book. Carbonation was big. Body itself was light, pale toasted two row and maybe pilsner malt here. Approaching 7% keeps this one with a slight sting alongside the phenolic push. Perhaps the barely lesser dryness to it is a result of the pear juice, I dunno. At the end of the day, its good and at a good price. I just wish it was a little lighter in terms of the yeast and alcohol, its getting out of that hot day refreshing drink vibe.
I dunno that many could pick this out of a blind test with the base version.

Super refreshing and dry with a nice slight fruit sweetness. This honestly isn't very different than the base beer. I love the base beer and this is a slight improvement.
