Clarity is unsurprisingly almost clear with a golden orange hue (SRM 5-8). One inch of fluffy white head has a pastel orange tint and settles out within three to five minutes. Rings of patchy lace are separated by spotty lace on a IIPA glass.
A mild aroma of grapefruit pith leaves room for cedar shavings. All told, the aroma really isn't that much.
Modest bitterness gives way to light sweetness. Citrus is very mild and similar to the nose with added honeydew melon. Orange pith carries through in a long, mild finish. Overall, the beer is fairly juicy.
The medium body has texture similar to slick wool. Alcohol is less than expected. The carbonation is modest and astringency is light.
This is a decent drinking beer, although it is a bit mild for the style and my personal taste. I did enjoy it on an overcast, last spring afternoon.

Taster flight at brewery. Darker golden pour with a thin layer of head. Light floral aroma, grassy. Taste brings light fruity notes, some pine, more flowers. aromatic.

Pours a hazy gold. Thick foam. Bright aroma. Sweet mandarin orange body. Light bitter finish. Clean and crisp. Tastes more like wheat beer than an IPA but still pretty good.

draught
Medium light orange and amber color. Moderate aromas of medium roast malt and tropical fruit, with a bit of Mandarin orange peel, taking the fore, over the malt aspect. Thin, tangerine peel and off-dry, medium toast malt flavor, that doesn't bite, because there isn't enough there to bite. Fairly quick, citrus peel finish.

Had on tap at ND. Nice refreshing IPA. Decent head; pale straw/ almost German lager like color. Noticeable nose but a bit restrained. Tasty hop malt balance… some citrus, honeydew melon; hints of straw and biscuit. Very nice.
Characteristically smooth for ND draft at their taproom. Really sessionable despite slightly high abv for a session beer.
Really enjoyed.

Strong smell on this one and an after taste that will stick with you in a good way! A nice big sniff will bring in a faint pine aroma , which is great and you can taste the hops when you drink. The color is nice and clear. I enjoyed this beer and if you’re an IPA fan, try this one out! It’ll do the job that you’re looking for. This is also an amazing brewery to visit !

On tap at Swillburger/The Playhouse in Rochester, NY.
This seems to be a tongue-in-cheek take on the current craft beer craze- the NE-style IPA. Given the name, and the actual clarity and lack of haze in the beer, it seems that Naked Dove didn't want to quite go all the way with this beer, so to speak.
This one pours a clear amber-orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing. It really doesn't look NE-style. (It looks like they actually let the yeast condition out, haha).
This smells pretty cool, grapefruit, guava, green pine, white pepper, pine sap, grassiness, and orange peel.
This is fairly juicy, not as juicy as you can get with the style they're sorta representing, but juicy enough anyway. It's hopped with Pekko and Azacca. There's sweet pink grapefruit, guava, and orange, with a really interesting but gripping bitterness on the finish. It's peppery, piney, and grassy, and maybe *slightly* medicinal, but not too much so, as that would be a big issue. I get a herbal thing that kind of reminds me of sage or oregano. There's a small amount of malt character, but not much. This is brewed with oats, but that doesn't contribute much to the flavor at all.
The oats don't contribute that soft mouthfeel you expect with the style, either, as this is crisp and biting, with a long lingering bitter finish.
This a very unique and quite tasty IPA. However, it's basically nothing like a NE-style IPA. If you view it just as an IPA, it's quite tasty. It's certainly Naked Dove's best IPA yet, as it's not a style they're usually adept at doing.
