On tap at Swillburger/The Playhouse in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very dark black black color, with a small white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like dark dusty chocolate, piney and herbal hops, and some smoke.
Black IPA is still a very flawed style. Nonetheless, this is a pretty great version of it. It's nicely creamy, roasty, and smoky, with a light bitter hop character. The roasted malt character definitely overwhelms the hop character, but that's honestly fine with me.
This is surprisingly thick and rich, with a great creaminess, and a high level of drinkability.
This one of the better hoppy beers that Naked Dove has done. Admittedly, that's not a high bar to clear.
