Pours clear, amber in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is wheat bread, white sugar and toasted malt. Light bodied, slightly sweet, moderate high carbonation. Makes for a fine, if not average marzen. Nothing I would seek out but fine.

This one pours a golden copper amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like caramel, crisp bready malt, spicy hops, and a light sweetness.

I like this a lot more out of the can than when I first had it on draft. It's well balanced, with just a little bit of malt sweetness. There's a touch of crisp hop bitterness, but nothing overwhelming or out of style.

This is light bodied, but surprisingly creamy and rich, with a great drinkability, and a wonderful crisp finish.

This is about as good as it gets for American-brewed versions of this style - it's excellent and Naked Dove should be proud of it.

Pours a reddish copper. Full foamy head. Smooth as silk. Malty with a sweet finish. An excellent Oktoberfest.

Poured on-tap in the Finger Lakes region, NY.

L: Clear medium copper brown pour. 1 finger of white head. Solid ring of lacing.

S: Grains/malts. Sweet.

T/F: Sweet... overly so, with loads of caramel and brown sugar. Earthy... needs some hoping to bring this back. Smooth... good carbonation. Finish is more malt.

O: A very average beer. A bit sweet even for the style.. not one I'd revisit but it wasn't unpleasant to drink.

On tap at the Red Dove Tavern. Golden brown in the glass, zero head whatsoever. Very little lacing to speak of as I drank. In terms of both smell and taste, one note dominates: caramel. This really misses out on the biscuity malt flavors and spicy hops that one typically looks for in the style. While this is by no means a bad beer, it just doesn't hit all of the marks expected for an oktoberfest.

Pours well with nice head, but the head doesn't last too long. This is golden tan in color when held in front of a light or a light reddish brown otherwise. The nose is pleasant without being overpowering.

The taste is hard to describe. I know it's very biased to say it tastes great, but I don't really taste the individual notes of flavor. The beer is refreshing and almost sweet, but not overly so.

I was really surprised by the smoothness of this beer. Normally, I don't taste any bite or bitterness in the "Naked Dove Amber Ale", but compared to this it was almost harsh.

This batch was 6.5% by volume.
