This was my first foray into sour beers, but kept me coming back for many refills. I had this several times as "Young Red Tart" and then again several months later as "Red Tart" after it had mellowed.
The noses on both were similar. The aging of the "Red Tart" gave it a more subdued nose than the "Young Red Tart". Coloring on each was the same. The only real difference was the flavor.
The flavor, or more the question of the flavor, is what kept me coming back to this beer. It tasted sour, almost like sour apples, but not quite like sour apples. To be blunt, this was like the "Sour Patch Kids" of beer.
The "Young Red Tart" was a bit harsh and very sour. Comparatively, the "Red Tart" was quite a bit smoother and almost sweet whilst staying sour. Although both are nice, I don't know if I could drink either all the time; certainly, each is nice some of the time.

Real beer week Rochester NY; MEX restaurant
No head retention, no lacing, wooden light brownish red color, very clean. Smell is quite malts for the style, very little sour on the nose. Mouthfeel is nice, and sourness helps the over roasted malt note.
Overall; a nice sour with to much foward malt flavors. wonder if it would taste less disjointed with time.
