Aparently both top and bottom fermented.
A: Almost neon yellow, head to the top of the glass (1.5 inches fluffy white), barely any rising carbonation. A cloud of presumably yeast sitting near the top, like smoke from a cigarette suspended in time.
S: Strange malty smell which is similar to southern German styles. Grainy, reminding me of a barn, yet fresh with a hint of sweetness.
T: I haven't had another beer quite like this one. It does have a Marzen quality to it, but it's not really bitter. Slight sweetness, almost a hefeweizen secondary quality, but not quite. It's a funny mix, but ok.
M: Mild and soft carbonation, slightly astringent.
O: Interesting experiment, and not unsuccessful. But it does taste like an experiment.
