12oz into a tulip
On draft at the brewery
A: completely opaque apricot orange, doesn't even look like beer it looks thick, barely a sliver of white head, little retention but leaves a small amount of spotty lacing
S: strong basil is the first aroma I get, next I get citrus with a strong orange presence, strawberry is there fairly prominent as well, some rye notes.
T: a heavy herbal basil character, next I get piney bitterness mostly on the finish, lots of rye flavors, strawberry is pretty faint but is present . Its ok, a little too heavy on the basil and herbs for my liking.
M/D: full body, carbonation on the lower end, drinkability is average.
O: overall, interesting and unique, but not really for me. I think I prefer regular one claw. Definitely worth a try though. Glad Westbrook is experimenting with all these spinoffs of their standard beers.
