Drank a growler from Green's (Columbia, SC). This is probably my 5-6th time having this beer. It never disappoints.
L: Pours very dark, almost like a stout.
S: ton of rye and bourbon, dark fruit
T: More dark fruit, vanilla, lots of rye, not too much heat
F: Very well balanced, full bodied.
O: A beautiful BA English Barleywine. I wish it had a little more heat/ABV, but very well done. It's great to see a Southern Brewery brew such a great English BW.

Had this on tap at brewery several times and also growler fills from retailers in SC. To my knowledge, no bottles exist.
Pours with no head, minimal lacing. Typical brown-ish or mahogany color of a Barleywine.
Smell really shows off the bourbon/rye barrel, some dark fruits and caramel for sure, perhaps some vanilla.
Taste is amazing. The bourbon is present and the sweetness of the rye, the caramel and toffee flavors are rich and decadent.
Overall I think this is one of my favorite Westbrook beers. It would be difficult to reproduce on a regular basis, but hope they decide to try more English Barleywines in the future.

8oz pour on tap at the brewery
Assuming this is double barrel aged Anfernee.
Dark mahogany, essentially no head or lacing, opaque. Aroma is lots of dark fruit, a tart quality, oaky bourbon vanilla. Taste is lesser on the dark fruits and none of the tart qualities in the aroma; dark malts, caramel/toffee, some bitterness, subtle barrel characters with charted oak. Mouthfeel is full bodied with appropriate carbonation and average drink ability. Overall good but I expected more from a double barreled old ale from such a good brewery.
