Notes: Bourbon BA 4th Anniversary Chocolate Coconut Almond Stout , 2017 "CocoNaughty" Edition

We loved the first version of this beer that we released in late 2015 but thought that it would be even better with more chocolate, coconut, and almond flavor. We re-brewed a small batch of the base beer in May 2016 and aged it in Willett bourbon barrels until early August 2017. After blending the barrels together we infused the beer with ludicrous amounts of the aforementioned adjuncts. The result is one of the most luscious and decadent beers we have ever released.

Appearance: Pours very dark with a beige head that leaves a few strands

Smell: Chocolate, coconut and almond tones embraced by Bourbon

Taste: Like the aromatics, the chocolate coconut and almond tones are prominent with the Bourbon enveloping, through the middle; oak and vanilla join in, after the swallow; creating an Almond Joy finish with the Bourbon lingering in the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Full body with moderate carbonation

Overall: The BA version is so much better than the base beer; the flavors really come together here

Deep black body with a tiny brown head diminishing very fast to a constant ring.

Nose: Nutty, chocolate, roasted malt, love it!

Taste: Light to medium sweetness, light bitterness coming from the roasted malt, very nutty forward, almond is getting it all, can't really notice the coconut. Medium to long aftertaste!

Thick and smooth mouthfeel, can't feel the 10% at all, would say high drinkability!
A whale for sure!

Even after having several whales this beer was insanely awesome. Nose of over the top in a great way coconut and almond and the barrel to balance it all out. Creamy thick and ever so smooth. Top notch beer here!

Probably one of my favorites from Westbrook. It reminded me of a Ted's Chocolate Haupia pie with a slight bourbon finish. Can't think of much, if anything I'd improve on this one, thus it's damn near perfect in my book. I wish I had more money when it was released, I would of gotten way more.
