Notes: This beer combines three of our favorite things: juicy fresh-squeezed hops, zesty and bright citrus fruits, and a name that doesn’t make any sense unless you know the story behind it. Enjoy!

Picked up a 16 oz single from the Craft Beer Hop Stop cooler 7-16-20 for $3.74. Canned 6-29-20, consumed 9-7-20. Cold stored since purchase.

Beer poured a hazy orange with an smallish white head that has some decent hang time.

Nose has notes of fresh citrus.

Taste is tangerine forward with some mango over a good size oat malt base. Finishes with a nice touch of balancing rind' 6/10 on my bitterness scale.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and very smooth.

Overall a pretty good rendition of a double NEIPA!

16 oz can with a canning date stamp on the bottom from 4 weeks ago.
Look. Pours with a cloudy body that resembles apricot nectar.
Aroma. Rich; dominated by tropical fruits featuring ripe, soft fruits including passion fruit.
Flavor. Strong and dominated by rupee fruit notes. The bitterness leans just a little towards mild for the style.
Feel. Medium-full body with medium carbonation. A bit harsh.

Sturdy effort from Westbrook. Copper-colored IPA, citrus forward with a deep, long-lasting hop finish. Despite being a double IPA, not terribly complex. But it does one thing really, really well.

16oz canned 6/25/18 (9 days ago) poured into a stemless wine glass at fridge temp 8.5% ABV. The beer pours hazy yellow orange amber with off white head. The aroma is faint of semisweet orange. The taste is semisweet orange & slight caramel. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with prickly carbonation and a semi dry finish. Almost no perceived alcohol in the nose or flavor. Overall, good, but not a standout. This seems very much like someone is just trying to brew a beer for sales and not because they love the style.

Pours a golden straw color with appropriate white head. Pleasant aromas of grapefruit, malt, lemon, apricot, mango. Flavor is a bit over the top in an artificial way. Medium bodied, Mouthfeel is slick. Does not sit well in my stomach at all. Not my favorite offering from one of my favorite breweries. Had to dump 1/2 of it.

Good DIPA. Pours from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, a hazy dull honey yellow color with orange highlights. Medium size white head with good retention and thick bands of lacing. Aroma is citrus (orange) and some oily, piney hops as well. Taste is subtle for a DIPA but includes citrus hops, caramel malt, and some oily, resiny hops. Mouthfeel is nicely bitter - still with some balance from the malt -, crisp and medium-bodied. A well crafted DIPA, not a hop bomb, just tastes good.

Pours hazy orange. Tall, fluffy, white head that lasts a while with good lacing.

Smells Orange, grapefruit, Citrus, Brandy and caramel malt.

Taste orange, citrus peel, caramel hints, so much orange juice. Finishes dry with a citrus peel linger. Medium body and fizzy medium carbonation.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a deep orange color and a super cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of bright white, foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Average lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of citrus, hops, tropical fruit, and caramel.

T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish), a good shot of hops, a tinge of caramel, some light pine resin, lots of citrus (orange, in particular), and lots of tropical fruit (mango) as well. An extremely well-balanced, light, and sweet flavor. Slightly more subtle than the usual DIPA, but this isn't a problem.

F: A solid amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: An extremely enjoyable, well made DIPA. Quite easy to drink.

16 oz can poured into CBX pint glass.
A: pours a hazy dull golden body, plenty of sediment, bright white one finger foam head that slowly fades to perimeter, stringy lacing, carbonation
S: awesome tropical and citrus fruit aroma, mango, citrus, grapefruit peel
M: medium body with prickly feel on the tongue
T: citrus, orange oil, heavy grapefruit taste that packs a punch in the middle with bittering grapefruit rind, cracker, slight pine oil resin in the finish
O: DIPA for sure, while hops are heavy it is not overly bitter and balanced

A 16oz can with a canned on date of 10.2017

L - Hazy blond, with 1/2 finger of head and lots of sediment floating around in it

S - Tangy citrus aromas.

T -Like the aroma - lots of tangy orange. Tangerines.

F - Medium body and carbonation

O - Too much tang here and not enough citrus or bitter balance. I'll pass on another one

Really good, but just a bit odd ending flavor/remaining on tongue. I would definitely buy and try this again just to be sure its not my taste bud's issue after having a few different beers. Tasty

A: Pours a very hazy/murky medium to dark burnt orange in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + copper colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a couple of medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/pink grapefruit + citrus/ruby red grapefruit over the top of citrus/grapefruit pith + citrus/orange zest hops and moderate aroma of sweet biscuit + caramel malts.

T: Upfront there is a moderate flavor of biscuit + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of citrus/pink grapefruit + citrus/ruby red grapefruit. Finally there are moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith + citrus/orange zest hops which imparts a light amount of bitterness which fades away fairly quickly leaving a juicy grapefruit flavor lingering.

M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly chewy with a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Enjoyable and easy to drink with relatively well hidden alcohol. I really like grapefruit so this beer is right up my alley - enough grapefruit (including pith) without being overly sweet.

Poured into a snifter. A hazy but not turbid yellow-golden color. Some decent sized floaties in the glass. A normal pour produced a thick and long-lasting off white head. Moderately strong aromas - mainly citrus as expected. Orange, grapefruit, and a bit of lime with the slightest hint of resin. The taste followed for the most part - bitter grapefruit, some orange, and also lime. Not much else. The lime was a surprise and may just be my palate. The ABV was well-hidden. Slightly more than medium-body which fit for an 8.5% beer. Overall, a nice beer that looked like a NEIPA and tasted like an assertively bitter old-school citrus IPA.

16 oz can poured into tulip glass canned on 10/18

A: Murky bright orange with a huge pillowy white head that settles slowly and laces the glass nicely.

S: Lots of orange and tangerine with just a little underlying yeast smell.

T: Lots of sweet tangerine and orange not a whole lot else.

M: Thicker bodied low carbonation almost bordering on flat.

O: It's ok, I am not a huge flavored IPA guy so it's just ok to me.

This was a good but not great DIPA. Citrus flavors are abundant at first with the grapefruit dominating. It felt as though the pure taste of alcohol bled through at times. IF it weren't for that fact this would be great DIPA.

Appearance - Pours slightly cloudy deep orange color with thick tight white head that lasts a good bit. Spotty lacing all around the glass.

Aroma - Lots of orange zest, grapefruit, some light sweet tangerine. there seems to be a hint of alcohol lingering underneath.

Taste - The citrus flavors really stand out. I am getting orange peel, bitter great fruit and a slightly sweet orange juice. The alcohol comes out in the finish pretty well.

Feel - medium bodied well carbonated some warmth from the alcohol.

Overall - A pretty well done IPA the aroma really opens up with citrus and the flavors are nice. The alcohol comes out in the taste a little more as it warms.
