L: Had this beer at Westbrook's tasting room, poured into a taster. Had a yellow / orange color and a slightly hazy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.
S: A strange and low key aroma of sweet potatoes, spices, marshmallows, hops, malt, and vanilla.
T: Tasted of small amount of hops (not a huge factor), some light brown sugar notes, a hint of vanilla (kind of fleeting), a hint of spice (cinnamon, in particular), some sweet potatoes, a little malt, and marshmallows. Like the aroma, the flavor is an odd duck. The addition of sweet potatoes to an IPA is novel, but it doesn't always mesh.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: This is an uneven beer, to be sure, but an interesting one. Worth a look.
