Dark as night. Nose of rye, pepper, chocolate. Tastes follows, rye pepper, brownie batter. Thick, but wish it was slightly thicker. Overall very nice, think the amount of spice will be better once either the barrel or habenero fade a little. Think a sweeter barrel is better with this beer, however very well blended

L: Had this beer on-tap at Westbrook's tasting room, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head. Average lacing.
S: A very nice aroma of chocolate, malt, rye whiskey, spices, and chili peppers.
T: Tasted of a bit of malt (mostly in the finish), some spices (cinnamon, in particular), a good shot of chocolate (always welcome), a decent bit of rye (more than expected), and some chili peppers (a nice amount of heat). This is a focused, subtle, and well-constructed flavor. Quite tasty.
F: An average amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Another well made version of Mexican Cake. Drinkable.
