Wasn’t really sure what to expect from this beer with the outrageously high price point.
Pours with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates. Legs on the glass are also thin given the style and barrel treatment.
The nose is aggressively blueberry with boozy coffee beverage notes.
Blueberry continues on the palate with bitterness from both the coffee and chilies but with an astringency that has faded as it’s warmed up.
Surprisingly thin given the style and maple syrup barrel treatment.
Overall an enjoyable beer but given the price point I personally expected a little more. Have loved Mexican Cake and it’s variants but wish I’d have tried this game on draught first.
