This one pours a dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells fantastic, with the barrel leading the way, adding light vanilla, char, bourbon, and lots of oak. Otherwise, there's a lot of coconut, with some fudge and light almond.
This series is super underrated, and this is another great entry. The barrel is the star here, adding some spicy balance to the sweetness imparted the additions. The barrel provides spicy oak, some bittersweet caramel, and spicy bourbon. There's no real booziness here, it's just pure stout and barrel flavors. There's a big fudgy thing underpinning everything, with thoughtful and not overwhelming additions of coconut and almond - two flavors that always go together well.
This is creamy, thick, and very drinkable, with a very silky feel to the whole thing.
It's hard to find much to fault this one on. It was extremely enjoyable.
