Acquired a 500 ml bottle after volunteering at the Eighth State Altered States festival on 7-27-24. Bottled March 2024, consumed for review 8-21-25.
Beer poured jet black with zero head.
Nose is a wonderful combination of vanilla, cocoa, nuts, and bourbon.
Taste follows the nose as the moderately roasted malt base works wonderfully with the cocoa, vanilla, and toasted nuts. Barrels bring a nice warmth with each sip and does a fantastic job and balancing the adjunct laden malt base.
Mouthfeel is near perfection, surprisingly full bodied after all that time in barrels with each sip being velvety smooth.
Overall, a world class quasi dessert beer.
