On-tap at the Westbrook tasting room on 7/21/11. Graciously served by Mrs. Morgan Westbrook herself, quite a treat on my birthday!
Pours a clear copper with a soapy white head that recedes to a slight haze and ring. Very pretty! Aromas are incredibly crisp, with notes of caramel malt, earthy hops, and a definite Saison quality ; coriander, citrus peel, and banana. Taste follows the nose closely, the Saison yeast adds an earthy, floral character to this and drys the finish out nicely. Very crisp and refreshing, with a medium body and solid carbonation. This beer combines two of my favorite hot-weather styles into one, glad I got the last sample before the keg kicked!
