On-tap at Brewvival 2012
Dark brown with a thin mocha head and nice "legs" (stealing a wine term here). Big aromas of fig, brown sugar, and Bourbon. Taste follows the nose nicely, lots of fig, raisin, brown sugar, and warming Bourbon. Medium-full bodied, with a lush mouthfeel. Really tasty Quad, the barrel-aging is nicely integrated and very well done.

Had during Brewvival 2012! Served from tap into a Brewvival sampler imperial pint. Poured dark brown with a half finger tan head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, bread, wood, sweet alcohol, and dark fruit. The flavor was of sweet malt, bread, wood, grapes, nice dark fruit, and subtle sweet alcohol. It had a medium feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. I really like how this one brought the dark fruit into it and really made this one pop for me compared to some other Quads I've had in the past. The barrel really added a nice level of complexity to this brew. Really well done by Westbrook here and I can't wait to see what else is lurking in their barrel room. Tick.
