Growler filled at the brewery

Pours a cloudy orange-gold with a thin, fluffy white head that recedes to a slight cap. Big tropical nose of mango, peach, banana, and strawberries with some white wine, Belgian-style yeast, and spices. Something a touch unpleasant in the nose, almost like a single rotten peach hidden in a basket of good ones. Still, like the tropical notes a lot. Taste is similarly tropical, with more peach, mango, and banana and a lightly grainy malt backbone. Pretty smooth-drinking beer despite the 9.5% ABV, and little to no bitterness despite the copious amount of hops used. Mouthfeel is quite smooth and creamy, with a medium body overall and good carbonation. A decent offering from Westbrook, but by no means my favorite offering from them. I'd like to see this tweaked a touch since I think it's real close to brilliance.

Served from growler into an RJ Rockers shaker. Poured a golden yellow-orange with a half finger slight off-white head that subsided to a minimal amount quickly. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, spice, citrus, earth, and fruit. The flavor was of sweeet malt, fruit, banana, floral, and citrus. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a fairly good brew. I really was intrigued by this one once I saw the name as I couldn't stop laughing. I was really hoping this one would have carried over a nice hop profile with it as it was dry-hopped. However I got all of the hop profiles such as floral and citrus but there was no bitterness to go along with it as you would expect. This definitely did make it much easier to drink and enjoy while keeping it quite drinkable while sitting out by the pool this past weekend. Definitely a nice brew from Westbrook that I'm glad I got the chance to try.

A: Poured from a growler to a goblet. Had an orange color and a hazy texture. There were two inches of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Very good lacing.

S: An odd, slightly off-putting aroma of fruit, hops, and some yeast.

T: Tasted of Belgian yeast, a surprising amount of hops, light fruit, and some malt. It seemed to me the addition of hops (specifically the type of hops used here) to a Tripel is not as good as it could be. It gives the beer a slightly harsh, grainy quality.

M: A decent amount of carbonation with a super dry finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is an odd little experiment of a beer. Not awful, but something of a misfire.
