This was a one keg brew by Westbrook for the Charleston Beer Exchange. It was released on 9/26/13 as the rare beer for Rare Beer Tuesday. I'd say, one keg ever made, is quite rare. I'm a huge fan of the Citrus Ninja Exchange, which is what this one is, but this batch was brewed with Habaneros.
A - Cloudy straw with a decent head that quickly dissipated to a thin lacing.
S - The citrusy hops hit you up front, almost like hoppy orange juice, then fades to fresh cut peppers.
T - Taste is definitely citrusy hop forward, but then the slow burn of the peppers takes over. The finish is like you literally bit into a pepper off the plant, very fresh tasting. My tongue is numb, but I like it.
M - Just as stated before, the tongue goes numb, then the throat follows shortly after. It lets you know that there's habaneros in there.
O - Another great beer from Westbrook. I'm glad I got to try this one off, especially as I am really starting to get into the peppery beers. This one has some cojones for sure. Any pepper beer that makes me sweat is good in my book. Not sure if I could drink it everyday, but it's definitely worthy.
