Having this beer on tap at the brewery. This beer draws a clear, very dark brown color with a light brown head that’s about 1/2 of an inch thick when first drawn and served. Head settles eventually to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass at the beer’s surface along with a nice film layer of surface foam and excellent lacing. Aromas of some roasted malts along with Notes of chocolate and coffee that is followed by an earthy hop presence. The flavor pro file is quite similar, with roasted, slightly bready malts with some black coffee bitterness and a bit of chocolate sweetness along with the aforementioned earthy, slightly to somewhat resinous and dank hops. Has a crisp, also smooth, slightly oily, medium to full-bodied about the field with moderate carbonation. Has a slightly to somewhat dry finish and aftertaste, and all of the flavors linger quite nicely on the inside of my mouth in the aftertaste. Quite a nice representation of this style of beer.
