Hazy yellow color with just a bit of white head. Aroma is mostly yeasty with a bit of farmhouse funk. Taste starts yeasty and slightly sweet. Nice fruity esters, even a bit overripe fruits. Hay, grass and other farmhouse notes. Body is on the light side and quite effervescent. Overall it's a nice, pretty rustic and well made saison.

Saison with Kaki, which is a confusing word for " Japanese persimmon." I was kind of hoping for a pants-flavored beer, but whatever.
A persimmon saison actually makes a great a deal of since, so it's surprising that this is the first one I've come across. To Ol did an excellent job with this one.
Pours dark for the style, almost like a highly fizzy IPA. Smells tart and fruity.
The flavor is exquisite. They picked some good persimmons, as these aren't nearly as astringent or tannin-laden is the American versions of the fruit. Beer starts off with a combination of clove, coriander, and tangy kaki. This basic combination sticks around through, but gets gradually dryer as the sip progresses, leaving behind an aftertaste of pepper and juicy fruit, with no trace whatsoever of the elevated ABV.
