Pours very dark, minimal head. Malty aroma. Very complex flavor. Lots of chocolate malt, milk chocolate, gentle smoke flavor, lots of chocolate and espresso on the long finish. Thick and chewy texture. Overall a really tasty beer, especially for 6 years old!

Canned 06/16/17, ‘HELLO FRIENDS AT UNTAPPED’.
Pours a dark brown, almost black. Fairly thin appearance, cold so not much head bubbles up. Ivory ring sits on top as it settles.
The nose on this is really nice. Roasty, malty, Smokey. Burnt oak chips compliment a very subtle sweetness in the way back that gives a nice balanced aroma with great boozy subtleties.
Sweet and Smokey right off the bat. A good interplay of these components, with that charred oak working with espresso and sweet chocolate. I’d imagine this beer could have been overwhelming when fresh, but it’s mellowed out nicely.
Although it pours thin, it does have a smooth feel to it, and it’s warm going down. Nice overall weight, but if I’m being critical, just a tad watery in the finish.

Appearance: Pours a translucent coffee color capped by a finger of mocha foam; decent stickage and streaming lace action
Smell: Roasty and smokey, with chocolate and cherry tones; soy sauce and ash in the mix, as well
Taste: Chocolate covered cherry with the smoke arriving with a Rauchbier character; the sweeter cherry flavors intermingle with the smoke bringing a soy sauce flavor through the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Rather unusual for a smoked stout, with the strong cherry tones; I rather enjoyed it

Can from The Beermongers.
Jet black with a small, dark brown head that falls off rapidly, this looks solid. The nose is a delightful blend of a delicate smoke, dark chocolate, coffee, burnt sugar, some marshmallow and a light clove and anise spice note. A little bit of dark fruit - cherry, maybe a little fig? - is present as well, along with a mild floral note. There really is a lot going on here. The palate opens bitter, roasty and fruity, a blend of mild smoke, some ash and a rather cough syrup like bitterness. The mid-palate has a fruity cherry note, that only amplifies the medicinal character. Medium in body, softly carbonated and with a long, bitter finish, this beer is decent.

Pours dark maroon black with a creamy frothy brown foam head. Smells super dark and roasted, smoky with barbecued smoked meats, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, dark molasses, charred brown sugar, dark toffee, dark toasted bread, dark caramel, with earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like super dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee, smoked roasted malt, barbecued meat, dark molasses, charred brown sugar, dark toffee, dark toasted bread, dark caramel, with earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy and slick with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a really nice smoked imperial stout.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a thin, tan-colored, creamy head that quickly dissipated. Not a whole lot of lacing.
S: An interesting aroma of smoke, roasted malt, chocolate, and some coffee.
T: Tasted of a fair shot of roasted malt, a surprising amount of dark chocolate, some smoky notes (less than expected), light coffee, a hint of vanilla, and hops in the finish. An intriguing flavor that really grew on me the more I drank it. Not as much smokiness (not like a rauchbier) as you would think, but the other ingredients make up for that.
F: An average amount of carbonation with a smooth, clean finish. Full-bodied.
O: A very likable stout here, one that's quite easy to drink. Well made.

Pours an effervescent mahogany with 2 fingers of caramel colored head. Head vanishes rapidly; viscious look to it, zero head retention & lacing
S: Iron, carob, charred grain, all fade as this warms
T: Follows the nose, a little molasses, a little smokiness & dryness up front. More iron, as this warms, a whisper of caramel, plus dryness, some more char too, plus vanilla. Finishes dry with a little caramel & smokiness
MF: Medium body/chewy, slight carbonation
A solid Imp Stout, very drinkable, a usual with these guys, the price is the real issue...

Sampling a cellar temp beer poured into a snifter. the beer pours a dark cocoa brown color with a fizzy tan head of 1 cm foaming and fading noisily to nothing right after the pour. Several streams of carbonation rise to the surface on the edges of the glass. Wish the foam had stuck around a little more in the glass.
The aroma is fairly bold right on the edge of the glass. I get dark chocolate, some sweet brown sugar and a good dose of smoked malt. Not really boozy though which is a surprise at 10%. No hops on this one.
First sip reveals a silky smooth textured beer with average body and spacious yet tingly carbonation.
The flavor is what I would expect from the nose details. I find dark chocolate notes and some dark fruit as well, maybe plum or raisin. I also find the brown sugar again and quite a bit of smoked malt. But here the chocolate lingers after the swallow. Again no hops are here and I also do not get any booze warmth here through the finish. This beer is very drinkable and I empty the glass fairly quickly.
Glad to have gotten the chance to try a can and would buy it if I were to come across the beer again.

Served in a snifter glass from the can.
Appearance: For an imperial stout body is a notch thinner than most. Motor oil color lacking a slight thickness which I prefer and a darker tan head which settles before first sip. Zero lacing.
Smell: Deep coffee and warm chocolate scent, almost lingers.
Taste: Definitely smoked, bits of chocolate and light coffee. Hints of brown sugar and molasses makes you think if it's a with dinner or dessert beverage.
Mouth: Thin body but full after taste which lingers. Smoked mocha finish.
Overall: Good brew, I think the next time I drink this little monster I will have a cigar in hand to compliment the rest. Salud.
